Head Coach Pat Glispin

One of only of a handful of coaches in the history of Division III women’s basketball to win 450 games, Pat Glispin returns for the 30th season on the bench in 2012-13.

The winningest coach in the history of Clark women’s basketball, Glispin has blazed a trail of success that has spanned parts of three decades.

In all, Glispin sports an overall record of 491-285 and is on the cusp of winning her 500th career contest.

During her first 29 seasons at the helm, Glispin has led the Cougars to the NCAA Tournament seven times, including a journey to the 1989 NCAA Elite Eight.

Glispin’s coaching has produced 22 winning seasons, including 11 campaigns in which her squads won 20 or more contests. During a five year stretch, the Cougars averaged 23 wins a seasons, made four trips to the ECAC Tournament and a deep run into the NCAA Tournament.

In 2000 and 2004, the Cougars won the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament and earned the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, going a combined 42-16 in those years.

The two-time NEWMAC Coach of the Year (1997, 2004), Glispin led Clark to three consecutive NEWMAC regular season titles in 1996-97, 1997-98 and 1998-99 going a combined 20-3 in regular season conference play. In all, Glispin has led the Cougars to four regular season titles, including their shared title with Springfield in 2003-04.

Clark played in the first five NEWMAC Tournament championship contests (1996-2000) becoming the first true dynasty of the current conference era which began in 1995-96.

Along with the Cougars success in the NCAA Tournament, Clark has excelled in the ECAC Tournament under Glispin’s watch. The Cougars are just one of two teams to win three ECAC New England Division III Championships (1988, 1990 and 1996).

In 1988-89, when Glispin was named Converse District 1 Coach of the Year, her squad finished the regular season undefeated (26-0), won the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship, wrapped up the season at 28-1, and set an NCAA Division III record for 36 consecutive wins.

In addition to team success, individual student-athletes have flourished under Glispin. Four individuals - Maria Giolas (1987), Tara McGuire (1989), Meegan Garrity (1996, 1997) and Marissa Garrity (2000) - have been named All-Americans, while and five players have collected NEWMAC Player of the Year awards.

A former three-sport star in basketball, softball and field hockey, Glispin, was enshrined in the Grafton (Mass.) High Hall of Fame in 2005 and was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.

A four-year letterwinner in basketball, Glispin is a 1975 graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. She received a bachelor's in physical education and a master's in psychological education in 1987.


Assistant Coach Cory O'Dell

Cory O'Dell, a coach with extensive experience at numerous levels of basketball, returns for his second season on head coach Pat Glispin's staff in 2015-16.

O'Dell will participate in all facets of the program including player development, student-athlete recruitment, practice planning and assist in the day-to-day operations of the program.

He most recently served as an assistant coach at Division II Missouri Western State from September 2010-March 2012. During his time in St. Joseph, he helped lead the Griffons to back-to-back Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) tournament appearances – their first trips since the 2007-08 season.

Prior to MWSU, O'Dell spent three seasons at Division I California State University-Northridge. His responsibilities included working with the Matador post players, recruiting and film exchange. O'Dell also oversaw the team's four student managers and was in charge of the recruitment and coaching of the male practice squad.

O'Dell became the first-ever women's basketball coach at Chaminade University in Maui, Hawai'I, serving in that capacity for the 2006-07 season after spending three seasons as a men's assistant with the Silverswords. In all, O'Dell spent four years at Chaminade, serving in other capacities including Event Manager and Assistant Sports Information Director.

Before Chaminade O'Dell spent five seasons (1995-00) as an assistant women's coach at Alaska Anchorage.

O'Dell graduated from the University of Hawai'i at West Oahu with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities with an emphasis in history.


Assistant Coach Sis Mazzamurro

Sis Mazzamurro, one of the few four-sport athletes in Clark history, returns for her fourth season as an assistant coach in 2014-15.

On the hardwood, Mazzamurro helped the women’s basketball squad advance to back-to-back NCAA Tournament Final Fours in 1982 and 1983.

In her four-year tenure, Mazzamurro helped Clark earn an overall 75-38 mark. Individually, she closed her career with the school record for game assists (15), a mark that still stands today.

In addition to basketball, she played field hockey, basketball, and softball while also competing on the club soccer team.

A four-year field hockey goalkeeper, Mazzamurro led the Clark team to the 1982 MAIAW State Championship and she was selected to the Northeast regional field hockey squad.

In the spring, she headed back outdoors as a three-year member of Clark’s softball team.

At the close of her career, Mazzamurro received the Athletic Department’s M. Hazel Hughes Award, given annually to the senior female student-athlete who has made a significant contribution to the athletic program and whose dedication and performance have enriched the tradition of Clark Athletics.

After graduating from Clark, Mazzamurro went to New York Chiropractic College, graduating in 1989 with academic honors. Since then she has owned a private practice in Westborough, Mass.

She resides in Westborough with her daughter, Rachael.


Assistant Coach Marissa Garrity

Marissa Garrity, a former All-American and New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) player of the year returns for her third season as an assistant coach in 2014-15.

Garrity will assist in all aspects of the program, including practice preparation, scouting, student-athlete development and recruiting.

During her illustrious four-year career, Garrity helped lead the Cougars to three NCAA Tournament appearances, three regular season NEWMAC titles and three more NEWMAC Tournament titles and an overall record of 84-30.

Clark had three seasons of 20 wins or more in her four tears and the season in which they didn't achieve 20 wins, they won 19 games and played in the ECAC New England Tournament.

Garrity started all 114 games of her career and was a three-time All-NEWMAC selection, earning player of the year accolades as a senior in 2000. In that same season, she was named second-team All-America, ECAC player of the year after averaging 20.7 points and 6.3 rebounds as the Cougars advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament (Sectional Semifinals).

Despite having graduated more than a decade ago, her career numbers are still splashed all over the Clark record books. She ranks fourth in points (1,607), third in steals (228), sixth in field goals made (615), seventh in three-pointers made (121) and eighth in three-point percentage (31.6), free throws made (256) and rebounds (705).
